What do you do when a lamb gets fly strike?

Life is never dull for Farmer Anna! Here’s what happened last week after she noticed one of the lambs had got fly strike.

Wondering what fly strike is? It’s a super serious condition, also known as myiasis, and it’s a little bit gross too - because fly strike occurs when flies lay eggs on an animal and the eggs hatch into maggots that eat the animal's flesh. Yuck!

It can affect lots of different animals, and if left untreated, fly strike can be fatal within 24 hours. So Farmer Anna had to act quickly here… Find out what happened, and don’t be fooled into thinking the red stuff on the lamb at the end is blood! Keep watching to find out what it is…
